Now What!
Last Update: July 29, 2012
This is intended for anyone, veterans or newbies. This is not your typical ra-ra WA, team spirit type of blog. If you don't like to hear it like it is; then DON'T READ this blog. IM is not an easy, make-a-million overnight get rich quick scheme. It is a journey, NOT a destination. It requires hard work and you have to pay attention to detail every step of the way.
If you have mediocre computer skills like I do, it makes it all that much harder. BUT, (and that's a big but) it's not impossible. It just takes time. Don't expect to make a lot of money right away.
I see a lot of the new members in the chat room asking how long does it take to make money? What they should be asking is 'how long does it take to learn this business? There's a BAZILLION things to learn here and elsewhere. People learn at different rates, some have more time to devote than others, and some have better computer skills than others. Then there are the people that have IM experience but just need more education. SO, there is no pat answer to how long does it take. It takes what it takes so just keep at it!!!!!
IM IS A BUSINESS and it needs to be TREATED LIKE A BUSINESS; and the more you know about your business, the better off you'll be.
Sometimes I get aggravated at people that compose trainings because they assume that everyone has the same level of computer knowledge as they do. Sometimes I get aggravated because it takes so long to learn some things. Sometimes I get aggravated because people don't explain the why's. You know what - TOUGH $hi+. When you get overwhelmed, take a breather. It will still be there tomorrow.
HERE'S SOME TIPS FROM SOMEONE WHO DOESN'T HAVE A LICENSE TO DISPENSE ADVICE
1) Read all of the recommended training - if you're comfortable with it - move on - if not then reread it until you're comfortable.
2) Read the 30 Day training - BUT - don't blow through it - read it and understand it - find out why content is important, how to get SEO, keywords and linking........UNDERSTAND why it's important and try to understand the almighty GOOGLE'S ranking system.
3) ASK QUESTIONS!!! Don't be embarrassed. I've gotten more information from CHAT than you can possibly imagine. Sure I've gotten the occasional snyde remark but it's few and far between. There's people in CHAT that LIKE to help out. Everyone has questions, even the seasoned vets.
4) Listen to as many WAbinars as possible - read as many trainings as possible. You can learn something from all of them. Sometimes learning just one little tip makes all the difference in the world.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Love this blog and so true! :) I am right there with you on having mediocre computer skills. But I do have to say I am proud of how far I have come.
