Nearly a week

Last Update: March 29, 2011

Well, it’s the end of the first week and I’m already sounding like an expert to my friends with the amount I’ve learnt!

I read a post that suggested that most people’s initial thought when joining WA is “I need to make money” and I agree, this was my first reaction.

However, with a week under my belt this has changed (a little!)

I’ve been doing my job for years now and am totally reliant upon a single income source - this is something I’m not particularly pleased with.

With this in mind I’ve come to realise that if it takes me a year or even more to totally replace my income then I’m more than happy with this. I remember being in exactly the same position last year and the year before with nothing on the horizon. This year the outlook is good as I can truly visualise a future where the boss has been sacked and I can spend the vast amount of my own time at home and with the family. I also envisage multiple income streams - stabilising my future and giving me the freedom to enjoy doing what I want.

I recently finished reading The 4-Hour Work Week by Tim Ferriss and this has giving me a totally new outlook on life - I previous want to earn a living, I now know that actually I just need an income to start living!

I think WA is brilliant  - it gives you every thing you need in a format that is easy to understand  - I only wish that I’d found it years ago.

Hi Jason,

Congrats on getting week 1 in the books! You are right, WA is a great place. You are going to do very well here, because you are putting realistic goals in front of you. People come in looking to make instant money, and it just does not work like that. Keep working through the material and remember to take action. Action is the key to everything. Best of luck going forward.

My sister was commenting on that book just last week. I may have to find the time to digest that one. Congrats on your milestone and mindset alteration. Been there, done that too. Keep plugging away. Success will come.

Hi Jason,

Well done on completing your first week at WA. I know what you mean about sounding like the expert. I mentioned "SEO" to a colleague the other day and he replied "What's SEO?". Don't assume everyone already knows the knowledge WA provides because often THEY DON'T!!!

I'm working with a company providing Pay Per Click campaign advice and although they'd already set up their own Adwords campaign, it was surprising how many mistakes they'd made, which were obvious to me because of what WA has taught me.

I've also read Tim Ferris' 4HWW and enjoyed it.

I'd better get back to the my day job too ;-)
