Experimenting with a new media
Well, yesterday I bit the bullet and downloaded Camtasia.
What's that, Camtasia is a screen capture and video integration platform. I put together a Pinterest introduction and posted it to training. If you want a quick intro to Pinterest give it a look. If you need more than the video provides, I would check out the recent training that BIS put together. She is amazing and has expanded on most of the points that I make in the video.
This Camtasia program is a must have if you are interested in putting videos and tutorials out on the web, there is a direct feed to your You Tube account in you are interested in posting your stuff up to there. They have a private network that you can use if you desire. You can then embed your video into your site from the You Tube video or, if you wish, you can create a special file for uploading directly into your website.
Camtasia is limited to 15 minute videos. There is a free 30 day trial for those that don't have the $300 purchase price. This is a fully functional trial that allows you to kick the tires and give it a try to decide if it is for you.
Jing is another program from the same company that appears to be a slimmed down version. The ante is much more affordable.
If you need to stick with free...Cam Studio is an option but I found it to be significantly limited.
Next up. Editing a video of some runaway drills that we did a couple of weeks ago with one of the new SAR recruits, A nice little Yellow Lab. He's gonna be a winner.
