WAU Anniversary
Last Update: August 02, 2012
I started at WA two years ago today.
I was out of work in 2010, laid off from yet another job that I didn't really like and searching in vain for another but was not really excited about the prospect of working at another place.
I decided that since my background was in computers that I would upgrade my skills. It occurred to me that there must be a way to make money online. At this point I had no clue that the internet was a huge source of unexplored information. To me it was a place to play.
Well, I spent most of the month of July surfing with the expressed goal of finding a way to make the internet pay off for me. Eventually I found a WA review by Eddie that got me thinking.
This looks like a legitimate place to learn to earn a living on the web.
There was no $1 promotion or even a 10 day free, kick the tires option. I even got started right after a huge price increase. Darn I would have liked to have joined back then. Even 6 mos earlier before my unemployment insurance was running out would have been a good thing. Ah well, water under the bridge.
We had a big vacation planned up in Maine. Camping, Whale watching, located a little sailboat to rent for a day, Lobstah. A nice break from the work of looking for a job. ( and it is work just without the paycheck) While on this vacation I made the decision to give WA a try for a couple of months to see what might come of it.
Gold membership for 1 month, had to upgrade to Platinum the second month and the 3rd month I spent my last remaining funds on an annual membership. I was ready to jump in with both feet.
It wasn't until the 3rd month that I actually did anything but read Forum posts and training and follow along with the tutorials that were in place at the time. Boy has this place changed in the 2 years since. I was able to get accepted into a 30 day club that was hosted by Marcus. This got me going on the right path. Now everyone gets this training coming in the door but I was a Guinea Pig for your training. Boy did I work my butt off. It paid off too, made my first sale.
I remember Jay's first WAbby where we actually came up with the name. And I remember almost making Jay fall out of his chair when I said my brain was full after his 3rd one.
So, here I am 2 years later. I think I've made a bit of progress, I think I've helped a few people too. I never thought that I would ever be in a place to offer assistance to people but here I am.
So thanks to Kyle, Carson, Jay, Joan, Barbara (has moved on) and all the others that have provided support over this time. ( I could list them all but the Internet would get full)
Looking forward to lifelong learning!
