Comment to EZA

I am really having a hard time understanding what all the prejudice about electronic cigarettes is about. The FDA cannot come up with anything valid that shows they are harmful. With the exception that we know many on the board of the FDA are highly invested in the tobacco industry. So it is killing their piggy bank.

I thought that was the advantage that the online audience has over the majority. You can learn and read about research that the mainstream media is not allowed to inform their audience about. Whether it is about politics, medicine or a whole list of other topics. While there seems to be this growing prejudice online about electronic cigarettes.

I did over six weeks of research on the product before deciding if I should give them a try myself. I spent another two to three weeks trying a couple of different brands and finally found one that I think is the Cadillac of them all. It was at that time when I chose to become an affiliate for that brand and spent over a month putting a website together.

Proof reading it and going through the material over and over again. To make sure it did not promote the product to someone under age or anyone else that does not use tobacco already. With all those hours spent on the project I forgot to do one thing. Back up the information. A couple weeks ago I deleted the whole thing by accident. Ten weeks of work down the drain with a click of the mouse.

I still have all the notes from the research I did. So I chose to construct another site that was similar to the last. One that did not promote it to minors or those who do not smoke already. Which is when I started running into block walls everywhere I go.

I put a page together on hubpages in about four days time. Only to get a letter back stating it was against their TOS. So I chose to go to Wordpress and put a site together. Knowing I would not be a victim of any prejudice there. Only to come across more of it as my adventure continued. Twitter would not allow it posted on their site for the same reason.

So I chose to come over to Ezine and write an article about it on your directory. Only to read the same in your Terms of Service. That one subject on the "do not" list is tobacco like products. Electronic cigarettes do not contain any tobacco. They look and feel like cigarettes of rolled tobacco. That is part of the miracle in this product that has helped so many smokers kick the habit.

It is all about physical and psychological habits. Electronic cigarettes consist of four ingredients that make up the vapor that users inhale and exhale. Water, flavoring, nicotine and propylene glycol. Nicotine is not a harmful drug. It is an addictive drug just like caffeine is. So if you feel nicotine is harmful to your health, I suggest you stop drinking that cup of coffee or soda on your desk. Because it contains caffeine which is a drug that is just as addictive.

The only fact the FDA has come up with that I have read is about propylene glycol. Claiming they have chemicals that are used in anti freeze. That is correct. Propylene glycol is a liquid that has a consistency to it like syrup. Which gives that syrup consistency you see in anti freeze. That is a great scare tactic.

What they do not tell you about is all the foods you eat that contain the same product. Go take a look at the labels in your food cabinet when you get home. Salad dressings, cake mixes and a whole list of things. I could go on and on. I bet that soda you are drinking has propylene glycol in it. If it is a diet soda you can bank on it.

The reason I chose to come here is because I remember one article I submitted that you approved. I was in shock when I found out about it. Only to remember that the article was about quitting smoking. Something I wrote back in May for the same reason. Then I came to the realization after reading it again, I did not mention the words electronic cigarette anywhere in the article.

I had to go in and edit the last part of it. The link to the site which does not exist anymore and replace it with the new link. It was then when I realized I used e-cigarette review as part of the link's name. So I might as well go back and just delete the article. I am sure it will not be approved now.

I would like to add one more thing. I hope this comment did not offend anyone. That was not my intention in writing it. I just think it is sad that so much of the online community has taken this "talk to the hand" mentality about electronic cigarettes. Which is not the consumers on the other side of the screen. They would LOVE to hear about this product.

Electronic cigarettes do not cause cancer and are not promoted to children under the age of eighteen. There are drugs they might be taking already that threaten their health much more than this product. Which could be birth control pills along with any other product from the pharmaceutical industry. If you do not think they are dangerous, do the following the next time you hear about one of their new miracle drugs from a television commercial.

Get a pen and paper. On one side write down all the advantages of the drug. On the other side, write down all the side effects they can cause. The second column will win out every time.

Have a great day and enjoy the coming weekend.

Sincerely

Yes, Electronic Cigarette is a revolutionary product, it really can save millions of life. You are right about ASH, there is definitely big money behind it. Probably the cigarette companies have a big part to play in this as well. But that's not just happening in the States, it happens all over the world. But I think in States everyone is at least educated enough to research and make their own decision than just depending on the main stream media, especially now that internet is here. It's funny that today I made a sale for the Greensmoke Electronic Cigarette from a small campaign I ran months ago.

Hmm... now that is one I have not come across. You are probably correct. I am convinced one way or another that big money is behind it. We all know in the States that big money never has the interest of the People in mind or the benefits for their health. If Action on Smoking and Health stood behind the title of their organization, they would be promoting this product themselves. HAH!

I think it's the "Action on Smoking and Health" (http://ash.org/). But I can't be sure because I really have no idea which organization is more active in America.

Ah... yes. The American Society of Hematology(ASH). More of "Big Money" pulling their rank and file on others. While they should be researching the problems they claim be behind. Those including the understanding, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disorders affecting the blood and bone marrow.

I know, it's a bummer. Even I did a lot of research on the subject but in the end decided to not promote e-cigarettes. Not at the moment. The main reason why I didn't want to promote electronic cigarettes was because I couldn't find any good product. Reading a lot of posts in the e-cigarette forums I realized that all the big e-cigarette companies ( greensmoke, blu etc.) that provide good pay outs didn't actually have good products. On the other hand, the good products like the 510 didn't have good affiliate programs. I was able to find a few affiliate programs but they didn't have good payouts. So, I decided to wait for a while until either better products come out or when I have more free time so I can work on it on the side. As far as article directories and hubpages etc. are concerned, I heard there is some organization called ASH that is going after any big company that has anything e-cigarette related on their website. Google won't let you advertise on e-cigarettes, hubpages and EZA won't accept articles on e-cigarettes, even paypal won't let e-cigarette merchants pay their affiliates through paypal. You can't really blame them though, they have a business to run and don't want to get in trouble.
