The Difference Between Winners and Losers

Last Update: August 13, 2010

This came up in a forum post so I thought it would good to blog about it.

Why is it that different people can take the same or similar action and get a different result? When people create similar IM campaigns why is it that more often than not the results are so different. One succeeds far more than the other.

There could be other variables at play I know but consider this explanation if you will.

Attitude. It is such a huge difference maker. The power it brings to our lives is unmeasurable, both for good or evil. It does make a difference in the work you do, the happiness you experience and even your health.

The key point is to understand that attitude is a choice. To a significant degree you can choose your mood, demeanor and outlook. It can be positive or negative, but it is your choice.

Choose to be a winner. It will not be luck that determines your success with anything, including IM. You will not fail because the universe created circumstances beyond your control that overwhelmed you to the point that it forced failure upon you.

Choose positive. Your life will change for the better from that moment forward.

Chuck Swindoll puts it this way:

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.

Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company... a church... a home.

The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude... I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it.

And so it is with you... we are in charge of our attitudes.

I whole heatedly agree Wayne. Attitude is the element from which all things come. It is extremely empowering to realize we can chose what we wish to experience in life simply with our attitude. Gold for you my friend
