"Just Five More" For More Work Done.

Last Update: June 19, 2010

Here is a method developed by self-help guru Sam Horn that's simple and yet very powerful.

In a nutshell, the next time you're about to get off task, say mentally or aloud to yourself, Just Five More.

What does this mean?

Oh, come now. It's simple...

It means you continue to work for five more minutes on whatever you're working on.

Do keyword research or build that site for five more minutes.

Write five more sentences if you're bogged down composing a blog entry.

You get the idea. o:)

It's that simple and it works.

This technique works because it builds persistence, gets you to focus and gets more work done.

So every time you're about to get unfocused or about to give up on something, Do Five More, okay?

Try this technique for a week and see if it worked for you.

My husband used to try this on me when I was swimming laps at the pool. I grew to hate hearing, "Just one more!" I don't think I ever heard him say, "That's enough." It works. I'd rather write more sentences or look up more keywords.

It really does work. If you do that exercise, it's enough to get you going and before you know it, you're working 5 hours or more. Thanks Faith.
