New Street Article Gets Ranked!

Last Update: August 09, 2012
Hi All

Wrote a new article yesterday on fly fishing line and it was posted 9pm London time. Have checked Google ranking today and have found it is ranking on page 1 for all 5 keywords. Estimated traffic is only 144p/m for all five combined but hey its still traffic.

The title keyword "How to choose a fly line" had a QSR of 63 and is sitting on page 1 position 7.

"Target species fished for" had a QSR of only 2 so its sitting page 1 position 1.

"The rod line rating" had QSR of 21 and is sitting page 1 position 2.

"What fly line colour" had a QSR of 1 and is page 1 position1. as expected

"What fly line density" had a QRS of 4 and is page 1 position 2.

So that's 2 at the top, 2 in second place and one a bit further down on page one.

Not bad for about an hours work including searching for the keywords on Jaaxy. The four secondary keywords were paragraph titles that were bolded and underlined.

It may be something to think about when writing that secondary keywords using h2 tags will help rank the article better.

I have to thank Seth for the insight on this you can find a few excellent articles on SA on the subject, I learnt a few things, so can you.

Nice work! Sounds like you are making some good headway and making a presence in Google. The more you write, the more keywords that will get ranked. I have gotten rankings on over 100 search terms with a singular article that I have written naturally on one particular topic. :)

How do you do the analysis on that?

Thanks for the compliment Kyle but you know I learnt 95% of it from WA.

Congrats and thanks for the tip. I only use 1 key word when writing an article.

I know writing naturally can create keywords that are ranked without actually thinking about it. I just used paragraph headers as a dedicated keyword to help. Thanks for the comment.
