.August 3, 2010 - It's about time I updated my profile, and change the "Grizzly Adam's" photo to something more current. A friend snapped me while I was playing for a wedding at church in July.

If you want to know more about me, you can have a look at the two-year old profile below this update. Physical attributes are about the same, except for the beard. I'm just finishing radiation therapy for cancer, and I (as well as the doctors) are very optimistic about the outcome.

I renewed my annual membership a several months back. All the way through the last year (paid annual membership) I hadn't accomplished much. I'd done some reality checking and finally decided to take advantage of the tremendous opportunity before me -- I put a thread on the WA Forum about that time, outlining my concerns for future income, etc.

Right now I'm on Social Security disability. I turned 64 in April, so I'll be 65 next April. At that time my Social Security will amount to about 2/3 what it is now.

I've been working my way through the Action Plan -- I'm all the way down to Free Marketing Tools. I've been studying PotPie Girl's One Week Action Plan, too.

My goal is to have an affiliate marketing income that will enable me to live without depending entirely on the government (how's THAT for scary?)

I probably should blogging from now on. It just occurred to me I am not alone trying to retain all this stuff. And I see some really cool and exciting stuff going on around here.

I'm no wizard, but I'm available to try to assist anyone else who's wading neck-deep in all the information available here. Maybe we'd both learn something new.

Good luck and best wishes to all you guys. Like it or not, we're all in this together.

Hello, I'm Bill from Ohio. I'm 62, 6'1", 240 lbs., brown eyes, blue hair, etc. etc. (I've gotta get a new picture! This one is about three years old -- I don't have a beard any longer -- that was just an ill-advised, poorly executed experiment.

Beyond all that, I have been a farm boy, funeral home assistant (anything to get off the farm!); ambulance driver; factory worker; monument (grave markers) salesman [hey! I met my second wife doing that; even gave her a discount!]; ;corporate controller; monument company owner; former owner of a defunct monument company; now a partially disabled, sometime accountant and internet wannabe, still pndering what to do when I grow up.

Have you noticed how we often define ourselves by our vocation? I've always been guilty of doing that. I'm actually a real person away from work. I found that out only after becoming totally disabled for a while -- I had to really discover that my worth as a person has nothing to do with money or prestige. Now I'm partially disabled, but certainly able to think for myself and make my own way. still concerned about doing much more than taking up space in this world, and making a meaningful contribution. Of course, finding a means to earn a living is a top priority, if I am to accomplish anything worthwhile. My hobbies have been lots of different kinds of music (I play the piano) --- no rap please, flying (I had an airplane once -- bad idea!!); photography, reading, volunteerism, and, most recently, web surfing. People tell me I'm very intelligent, articulate, and have a good sense of humor.

I've been asked, "Do you SUFFER from mental illness?" I always tell them, no, I rather enjoy it!

I have two daughters and a son, with a total of ten grandkids from 3 yrs to 18 yrs. They've all had some ups and downs, but I'm happy to say they are responsible, caring adults (well, 2 out of three ain't bad -- my son's coming along though) raising their kids to be decent people. I'm a Christian since May 6, 1977, with many lapses of judgment and faith along the way, including two divorces, a bankruptcy, and one business failure; I've recently joined a local Baptist church, a new mission church that is growing like crazy! We just moved out of temporary quarters into what used to be the STOCKYARD RESTAURANT AND LOUNGE. After a lot of painting, cleaning (LOTS of bleach!), and prayer, our first service was May 4 -- our sancturary used to be the bar area. The bar has been completely revamped into a beautiful backdrop for the platform and pulpit. We can seat 240. We'll rapidly grow into the space.

I'm happy to say all three of the kids are saved as well. Their kids are in Sunday School and church every Sunday, and beginning to flesh out the claims of Christ in their own lives.

I've used eBay occasionally over the last few years. I worry though, about the recent changes that negatively infulence the incomes and future of a lot of eBay store owners and powersellers. I've been told that owning an eBay store is a great way to start; I'm glad I haven't taken that advice. I'm considering other web marketing opportunites. A chance review of a niche store construction site mentioned that a newbie might well be better off with Wealthy Affiliate. I'm glad I read that review. I believe things happen to bring about God's best for us if we allow him to have his way.

I know I'm going to have a lot of questions as I progress. I'm a fast learner, though. If I can help anyone in any way, let me know. I many not know the answer, but I bet, together, we can find it!

P. S. My nephew and I were in Kissimmee for 8 days; he's a dialyis patient -- got a "free ride" to Disney! You've given me an idea -- I should post some pics from that trip on my space, something to keep in front of me as kind of a goal (I DO want to get away from Ohio's cold winters, probably become a snowbird!

Hey, John, thanks for your nice comments on my profile, etc. Your pics are great. I should do the same, kinda brighten up things ("Is there such a thing as paint that is blacker than black? If there were, I would paint my living room with it. I'd paint the walls, ceiling floor, everything..... then I'd go buy a black couch, just to brighten up the place..."

I should add, silliness aside, I really appreciate your commentary, AND your attitude... best to you.
