Long Live the Queen!

Last Update: August 12, 2012

Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II

Her Highness is celebrating her 60 years anniversary, as Queen of the United Kingdom. What a great queen she is!

I would love to meet her one day.

Here is a link to an amazing video. You may have already seen it, but for those who haven't seen it, don't miss it.

Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth

Thanks!
I like the traditions of England too, Joan. I know some make fun of it here in America but, it would be a shame if England lost their Royal family & traditions. Oh, one more thing, not only do I like the Queen, I like Charles & Camilla too and I wish everyone would quit picking on them!

Royalty wouldn't work here. It's out of character. Unfortunately, people in the limelight will be scrutinized. Frankly I don't know how Diana stood it either. People were nice to her, but she didn't get any peace. I wouldn't want to be a royal.

Often, being a Royalist can be seen as old fashioned, and whilst I agree that it is a privileged position I wouldn't have it any other way. Our kingdom, our small isle, that green and pleasant (-ish) land, wouldn't be the same without a monarchy.

I agree Dean. Royalty is befitting England. I love the pageantry. Particularly love this queen.

Hi Joan, yes our Queen is an amazing Lady, with a workload that many of us would find very difficult to keep up with. I was priveliged to see her very close up one day but have never met her. I did meet her Mother, which kind of tells you how old I must be!!
You are right about the video which is great.
Regards
Hudson.

She is special. She has a lot of warmth and charm which makes her approachable, despite her royalty. She's a wonderful ambassador for England. We were thrilled when she came to Virginia, though I live up north, so didn't get a chance to see her. Nice that you met the Queen Mother..
