Expectation? Failure!

Last Update: June 14, 2012
I expect to fail. I’m looking forward to it! It’s Day #2 and if this were a sculpture course, I wouldn’t be expecting to recreate Michelangelo’s “David” at my first attempt to hew marble. So, I doubt my first ever website will be any different.

I’m going to view my first few sites as required exercises in learning. “I have not failed 10,000 times. I have successfully found 10,000 ways that will not work." OK, I’d prefer not to rival that figure but with a nod to Chanel, by website #5, I’m hoping to have made some definite progress.

I’ve taken on board Veronica.l’s excellent advice from yesterday, and will limit myself to just one site at a time. I’ve already gathered neeshes (sic) and domains aplenty. Now it’s a question of which one to start with? I definitely want to have some fun, perhaps a product fan-site?
I’ll take the rest of the day off to think about it, like I needed an excuse?!

Great approach, with this success will come!
How many times do think Edison failed? Any successful person started out failing. I like the saying "every master was ones a disaster" but if you keep at it and focus success will come.

I am glad you liked my advice about starting with one site. Tiger Woods did not become a golf expert by playing a little bit of golf a little bit of basketball and a little bit of soccer. Focus on one thing and master it :) I need to follow my own advice on this lol there are just so many great opportunities out there...

Good luck failing :) Lucking forward following your progress,

Thanks so much, Veronica, however I may be disappointing you already. It might just have to be one-and-a-half sites. :(

I always have expectations of failure initially, it is a good perspective to have. Your ultimate goal is success but there is no smooth road to any success, there will always be those bumps that we refer to as failures.

As you said, you are just finding ways which will not work which is very powerful information to have. You can definitely make a success with your first site, so don't assume complete failure, assume that there will be failures tied into the process.

Love your attitude and outlook! If more people had this attitude there would be a lot more successful people out there. :)
