Remembering Lindsey Baum

Lindsey disappeared on June 26,2009 while walking home in McCleary, WA at about 9:30 in the evening. This was one of the longest days of the year and didn’t get dark until around 10:30 that night. It was still daylight out as she left for the short 5-10 minute walk home.
She never made it home that night.

"There are days (most) when I don’t think I could miss Lindsey
more, or hurt any worse, and then tomorrow comes and I see
that I was wrong – If only I had known that my daughter wasn’t
safe and if only I could have taught her more ways to protect
herself I’d have my baby, my movie buddy, home with me
tonight" … Melissa Baum

On June 26th 2009, Lindsey Baum who was the best friend a fellow ehow writer disappeared as she walked home from visiting her friend's home to her own home. She is still missing nearly three years now. For weeks, months and years the ehow community members felt her loss. I know a few are WA members now and I am sure they will remember our heartaches.

We asked ourselves how could we help search and find this child who lived so far away. By using the talents and creativity of the ehow community "chat" we produced a free 105 page ebook
"A Missing Child is Everyone's Child." Feel free to download the book and share it on your websites or print it out and give as gifts.

I am providing the link here because I would like you to take a few minutes to download the book and share it with anyone who loves a child. The articles were generously written by 28 people from across the country who joined together to write, edit and share what they could to help at all levels of "Missing Children." The creativity flowed from their hearts and an amazing product resulted. A few of my favorite articles are : "How to Fingerprint Your Child and Make It a Fun Activity," and a must read for everyone "How to Escape from a Car Trunk" plus so much more.

The candles are stilling burning for Lindsey. You can light a candle here.

Wow, this is tough. I have 3 little ones, and cannot imagine what those parents are going through. All we can do is educate our kids as to what to do in case of situations like this, and I have saved the PDF already to start reading through them. Hope this little girl finds her way home some day :(

If there was a way to turn it off that would be good. You can tweet and share the websites for Lindsey which I linked to in the blog and there will be no promo. Tuesday is the 3rd year anniversary of Lindsey disappearing.
