What Do You See When You Look in the Mirror?

Last Update: June 03, 2012

Aw, forget about the crow's feet or lack of symmetry. That's not what I'm talking about.

Is that face smiling back at you? I hope it's not scowling.

What do you feel looking at your own image? This is a good place for an attitude adjustment.

Would you say that person in the mirror looks full of hope and youthful vitality?

It's more than what you see, it's also what you feel. Do you feel that person is basically happy? Do you want to have a drink with that person? Are you attracted or repulsed by that image? Could this person be your friend?

Get your ego out of it. It's not for the cover of GQ or Vogue. This is an honest assessment of the energy you are projecting.

The world will reflect back to you what you are sending out.

So, get it together. Say cheese and SMILE.

PS: Not a reprimand but a reminder. It's for me as well.

I simply don't look in mirrors. I don't want to define my self worth by my appearance. We have the choice to decide whether it's going to be a good or a bad day - whatever the circumstances we find ourselves. Not saying that's easy. It frequently isn't but it is possible. Life is all about choices.

Hi Beverly, I didn't mean it literally. Not referring to how a person looks, such as appearance, but rather the energy they are projecting through an expression on their face. Disposition often shows in a person's expression. If you are very expressive, it can work for you or against you. I am one of those expressive types. Everything shows on my face, so that makes me aware of not frowning or grimacing. If a person looks angry or depressed, don't want to project that. Heck, you don't want to feel that either.

..I always see Magnificence in Human Form when I look in a mirror, that gets me smiling ..! Helps a lot with the Positive Attitude as well.

:) :)

I love that! Hope you don't mind, but I have to follow you for that. Great attitude.

Aye! I/We are much more than what we see reflected in a mirror. And as a consequence of that it behoves me to pursue my true calling to take control and be a master of my own destiny. Taking this WA course is the first step...

I agree with Thomas, it depends on the day as we all have our good days and bad days. The key is being able to turn the bad days in good days and this often times takes looking into the mirror...looking at the positive and realizing that things look bright in the days, months and years ahead.

Great post!

It's only human to feel enthusiastic some days and a little low other days. Usually, when I'm low, I hide out. I was told that when I'm grumpy, it's all over my face. If I can't hide out, I try to switch gears and get in a better frame of mind. A smile is kinetic in a way. Anyway it sends a message to your brain and helps to change your disposition. It just works. You don't have to look in the mirror because you'll feel the difference. Like magic, you start to feel better. Even if you're all alone, you'll be better company to yourself. Who wants to be with a grump? Not I, even when it's me.

Yeah, that is my goal...always remain happy. When you are happy, productivity is much higher and idea generation happens. When you don't have happiness, it is difficult to accomplish everything. Success does have a lot to do with the state of mind and before the money is considered, happiness should be at the forefront.

It depends on what day I'm looking in the mirror. Some days I think I'm the sexiest man on earth, other days not so much...lol

Ha! The sexiest man on earth is great. Do you find a difference in the way people react to you depending on how you feel about
yourself?

You know, I never thought to look at how people react to me on those days. Next time I'm feeling super sexy I'll have to pay attention, lol.

It's worth noticing and very interesting to see what kind of energy you are projecting. It's often subtle, but people do "mirror" what you are thinking..

Well said, the world will give back what you send out this is sooo true. The cool thing is that we are in total control of deciding what we want to see when we look in that mirror. If we are not happy with it we can change it.

Thoughts leads to Feelings leads to Action

I think it was THarvEcker that said that, so true.
Stay positive :)

Hi Vicky, I've been experimenting with just that. Sometimes I'm in a bad mood, so I have a grumpy expression on my face. When I approach people in that mood, they're negative right back. It's weird. I could be in the same bad mood, but pretend I'm not, and smile, and people act friendly and happy. In some cases, they don't even read your thoughts to react.
