You are the Best Thing Since Sliced Bread

Last Update: May 13, 2012
It's a little different now than it used to be. Sliced bread was a revolutionary idea in 1910, but what made people buy it? Took Wonder Bread to put the concept over. Is successful marketing a matter of spending a lot of money to launch a product?

According to Seth Godin, here are the questions to ask:

Is it remarkable?

Is it new and fresh?

Is it different?

Who is listening? Who really cares?

So your audience can be small, comprised of the people who care, and it spreads through the people they know, like viral marketing. You can't be all things to all people, but ideas catch on if they are remarkable.

Be risky or you won't be noticed.

And Happy Mother's day, by the way.
