what do I do now?
Last Update: June 23, 2012
So, like everyone else I am getting slapped around by google.
Everyone seems to be running around frantically trying to figure out why they are getting penalized for having some quality sites and while not even using paid services.
No one seems to have the magic bullet to fix this and (it seems) this will last for a while.
I have two web sites that I focus on and interesting things are happening with both as far as google is concerned.
First, let me talk about my pages:
The first page I made is about making money in different ways (online surveys, real estate, stock market, mystery shopping, affiliate marketing) online and offline.
http://bestresidualincomestrategies.com/
The second page is about options trading (strategies, tips for beginners, how to succeed, etc etc)
http://easyoptionstradingstrategies.com/
Before the slap my sources of income were Adsense, and Referrals to a survey website through my first page.
As I mentioned I would do in a previous blog I also recently added a CPA offer to the first page.
My adsense earnings were steadily climbing. I had a few $11 days and every month my adsense earnings were increasing by $10.
In my most recent month I made about $62
First Website
After the slap, it seems the home page for my first page (which was ranking on page one for several keywords) has been de-indexed. However, my contact and privacy pages are ranking on page 3 for those same keywords. How does THAT happen????
The privacy page is a copy and paste from WA so that is not even original content. You would think that google would be penalizing for that.
For the first page, my home page is no where to be found on google. Luckily I am still getting some traffic and some earnings but no where close to what I had before.
Misery loves company so I don't feel too bad knowing that others are experiencing the same problem. I do feel bad for those that were making over $10,000 per month and now their sites are de-indexed basically bringing them down to $0 per month overnight.
Second Website
My second website is experiencing something entirely different. I'm not sure if this is the "google bounce" or what.
A few of my pages are bouncing around wildly on google (from page 1 to page 4, to page 3, to page 1, to page 3, to de-indexed, to page 1...and so on) which leads me to believe that google is still making changes to their algorithms.
Conclusion
I read a post from a WA member on here who said that he was still ranking ok on BING and Yahoo and he was going to focus on getting traffic from there.
I ran a search for my main keyword in BING and Yahoo and the main page of my first website is ranked on page 2!!
I am going to do some research on other free traffic sources and see what I can come up with. This is just a minor setback on the greater IM journey. I have made money so I know i am doing something right.
I am also going to continue writing useful content for both my web pages as well as continue with my backlinking efforts. Still using my paid services.
I hope google figures things out pretty soon because it looks like a lot of people (customers and IMers) are going to be looking to other methods to get information AND revenue.
Final Note
I read on a few websites and forums that google is using "analytics" to help them find out which pages to de-index. I deactivated analytics on all my pages and I'm looking into using some plugins.
I tried a few but the numbers seem REALLY high for daily visits. I also heard analytics does not report certain types of traffic, so this was an interesting discovery.

Adding great quality content and pointing helpful quality articles to your website has always worked and I don`t see any reasons why that would change. Keep plugging away and your sites will climb in the rankings. Best of luck to you :)
