Thoughts on Promoting WA....

Last Update: April 19, 2012

After recent discussion in the WA chat surrounding the various methods that could potentially be used to promote WA, it got me thinking about what should be done with my existing IM website.

I originally created this website over a year ago as part of the WA 30 Day Success Training, which I believe has since been replaced by the standard 30 Day Success plan.

While I got many clicks when the site was originally created, the clicks never resulted in signups and the site has not been touched since I finished the program. I now find myself wondering if it would be effective to completely wipe the content I currently have on the site, and start from scratch, or can I work with the content that is already there, after a re-write of a few of the pages.

I almost want to start over, but I am afraid to due simply to the fact that I already have a bunch of articles both on SA and Ezine that are linking back to various blog entries and other content on my site. Is it possible to re-direct from an old website link to a new one if the original is wiped out?

Here's the site: http://jensinternetmarketingguide.com/

I welcome any feedback you may have :-)

One thing I noticed about WA campaigns...they do get dated very quickly. Yabba-Dabba-Dooo.com was a WA campaign. On top of not having the best URL for the website, nothing in it was salvageable and it all went to cyber obscurity (it still graces its presence on the WayBackMachine! LOL The fairly recent changes (dual pricing) I built a campaign and that too, is dated. Got to take it all down and do something that won't get dated so quickly. I don't know what that is yet. I found that I still have things scattered all over the Internet from the first trials. I imagine there are hundreds of these objects all over the place from WA members.

Yeah, change has happened several times over the past 7 years at Wealthy Affiliate. Our latest platform will likely see the most change, yet the fewest "how to use" changes as it is much more stable and much more robust than anything we have ever produced. It truly is a platform now built on technology and not a website.

I think the focus if you plan on promoting WA is first to be current with your look and your screencaptures, and second to be concise and specific as to what WA is now, an open education project within the Internet business niche (can help any type of business or person seeking to earn money online) versus an Internet marketing or making money product.

I have/had a blog and funnel site. Rewriting what I think is out of date. Changed theme to make it more personal to me and adding relevant content to WA as it is now. A lot of my own experience/usage of WA going in too as Behealthy suggested. I got a decent number of clicks before but only one sale for one month. I also will be trying as hard as I can to help my sign ups. Helping them to succeed will be a good asset for me.

I would personally update your site. Im sure there will be some content on your site still in use now, but just update it and add and talk about your experience with the new system.

Hello Jennifer...

Is everythng that you have on the site now going to help in your efforts to promote the new WA....just thinking outloud....

The content is a little dated now and I noticed that some of the content may be duplicate (taken from the old Blog & Funnel sites) which may pose problems getting rankings going forward (Google does not like dupe content).

I would suggest you update the content and screenshots to reflect that of Wealthy Affiliate and take your own personal approach as to how you use WA, how you see it, and why you think others would benefit from it. Don't be generic with your content, the more people like you the more they will trust you.

I would start there and then incorporate the free aspects when it has been rolled out.

Thanks for the tips. I figured at a minimum I would need to re-do the home page as well as the #1 product tab. I know there is a hiden review somewhere that most likely needs a re-write.
