(OEP) Open Education Project and Me

Last Update: April 05, 2012

Here I am looking back to December 2009 when I first joined WA really feels like it was just yesterday. Time really flies with our busy lifestyles and before you know it...BAM, another year gone by. Man, what have I accomplished? Well, not as much as I intended to and why is that?

  • Procrastination? Yeah, I think we all do it to some extent or at least that's what I was telling myself. Not sure, I'll figure it out later.

  • Lack of Time? Okay, so that's part of it but everyone is pressed for time, right? Most people are pressed for time, so we are all on the same page, right? Hmm... let's see whats new on Face Book.

  • Over Thinking? Oh yeah, that's me to the T. I think about something until I kill it in my mind and then it's too late. I should have written it down so I could come back to it later or better yet, I should have acted on it immediately.

  • Action! Yes, action. There is that word that keeps coming up, over and over again. I probably should have said "lack of action" because that's what it is. I'm sure that this, in part, is due to Over Thinking. (This post probably took me over 30 minutes to write but I took action and did it.)

Success! I have found that there are many levels of success but we all measure it in different ways. Searching the net and doing research is what brought me here, success. Going through the training and learning how to use WordPress Express, writing articles, keyword research, SEO, making websites and getting to page 1, helping others and of course making money are all forms of success. The one successful thing that most of us have in common is having found the WA community and now...

(OEP) Open Education Project. Wow, what can I say? The new platform and the name itself says it all. I feel that OEP will make everything I just covered here and more, easier for me to become an accomplished internet marketer.

Hi Jennifer, thanks.
Yeah, part of my overt thinking revolves around the fear of failure. That comes from all the years of me trying to be a perfectionist. As I got older I realized that nothing is perfect . I like having fun and being happy with who I am and what I can accomplish. Failure, it's part of learning so it's expected ;)

Awesome post! The one thing I have noticed is that over thinking tends to go hand in hand with the fear of failure. We all want our first attempt to be successful, so we over think the entire process for fear of messing something up and failing at what we tried so hard to succeed with.

The key to all of it is to keep learning and put what you've learned into action. Sure you may stumble and fall, I'm pretty sure both Kyle and Carson did more times than they dare count, but in time you will achieve success. Just stick with it!

I appreciate your experiences and the fact that your trying to help me see what worked and more importantly!, what didn't work. Thanks man!

None of us will ever find out what works and what doesn't if we don't implement what we learn. At times it's hard but when you do get that "a ha" it worked moment you know what those little failures were beneficial. Anytime :)

That is definitely the goal...to make everything easier, make the speed in which you can get educated faster, thus speeding up the time you can implement brand new ideas.

The time one is a big one. People say they have no time for their businesses, yet they end up spending hours on Facebook and watching TV everyday. It comes down to time prioritization...everyone has time for success!

Great post buddy!

Hey, thanks Kyle. OEP is going to be the best training platform on the web. I just have to use it wisely.
