Adding forum to website?

Last Update: July 24, 2012
Well today I have been having one of those days with a ton of roadblocks but I can see progress so I am kind of able to shrug most of it off. I spent a bunch of time waiting on responses on hold or chatting with customer support and got to thinking that it would be great to have a Pole Dance Forum for people to go to and discuss things related to articles on my blog or things they want to see on the blog.

I know it might not happen today or even this week but I was wondering if anyone knows how to do this and if so could you give me tips. Is there a plug in that will do this and is there a way to monetize it?

I am thinking that will help me draw some traffic to the website. I also wanted it to be a place where I could refer my pole dance friends so we could talk about all kinds of stuff and then they could refer their friends and so on. I have been thinking about printing up some business cards and handing them out when my pole friends ask for my phone number or email address. It would be nice if they included a place for us to get together and talk.

Pole dancers have their own vocabulary and we totally understand things that few others do so it would be nice to have a community where we could gather online and chat about things. I just have no idea how to start it, how to monetize it or how to link it with my website.

Thanks!

At least today when I was waiting I spent time thinking of new ideas even though I was not able to get everything I wanted done. Well the day is not over after pole class I am sure I will need some down time so I can write and research this new possibility. I have some article ideas that came out of the waiting time too so tonight I might be more productive.

Hi, mama2karsten gave you a good tip where to start. Also, create a membership site.
How to do that...i think you can find this info on warrior forum for free.

Have you thought about setting up a Facebook page for this? That would likely be the quickest... what u want to do sounds perfect for FB format. You may also post pictures
of this as an exercise in pinterest and drive interested persons to your website.

I don't like the Facebook format. I was looking for something a little more private for members. There is a lot of stigma for pole dancers and some people could even loose jobs if they used their Facebook profile to join a site that talks about pole.
