Who Can You Trust? Really?
Are you as bothered as I am about the disingenuous trend in our society? It's not just the USA. It's the entire world. They are failing us. How can we reverse that trend and make it right?
Things that I used to trust and accept as true and safe are now all suspect. Shall I enumerate some of them?
Politicians: Give me a break.
Doctors: Give me a break.
Product labels: How do you know they are telling the truth? What are they leaving out?
Banks: Oh please.
Food: Where is it grown, and under what conditions? What are they using as fertilizer and pesticides? Add to that genetically engineered food and irradiation.
Organically grown food: Can you trust it?
Laws: Whose pockets are being lined?
Oil Industry: Oh please.
AMA: Corrupt!!!
FDA: Corrupt!!!
Pharms: Corrupt!!!
Health Insurance Companies: Corrupt!!! Pawns of FDA and AMA.
Drugs: Where are they being made? What are their standards?
There is more than this guys.
To round out my rant, I'll just mention Internet Marketers.
Who can you TRUST? Who is authentic? Why is it that marketers think it's okay to rip people off? The gurus rip people off too.
Most of us can smell a scam from a mile away. But I ask, how much "ripping off" did you experience before you got wise?
Am I being naive to simply want to trust someone? something?
Let's all of us here be AUTHENTIC! Please. And maybe, just maybe, we can use our skills to clean up some of the muck.
How many chickens do you have anyway? You make some good points Art, but who is accountable?
Do you really believe our politicians are not heading us face first into a brick wall? Don't we have a right to protest? Is revolution our only option? We have a vote! Maybe we should sit back and trust. I'm not that evolved. I think we need to speak up. Does it cripple society to oppose something that feels/is wrong?
Like you, I am all for the free enterprise system. Ours is an honor system that is dishonored when people abuse their power. I believe in a person's right to make choices in their own lives without interference. I also believe in a doctor's right to practice the "art" of healing, without being dictated to by the FDA, AMA, insurance companies, or any other pressure group. The politicians on the other hand and working for their constituents and answerable to them.
Does it cripple society to point out there is a banana skin on the sidewalk? Watch where you step? And don't throw banana skins on the sidewalk please. Are not politicians representing the public? As for those other institutions mentioned above, sorry charlie. I have been researching certain of them and uncovering the "unsavory" that cannot be discussed here. I think it is our civic duty to know the truth of things so that we can correct problems if need be, problems that may affect our wellbeing. I promise you, I am much happier in la la land too. We can't afford it. Yes, the Internet has provided transparency like we've never seen before. However this corruption is not new. Much of it goes back to the early 1900's. People's lives are being destroyed. Don't you think it's about time to blow the whistle? At least open your eyes Art. My rant is a rant because I am angry about a few things I've been learning. But mostly, I want to remind everybody that we each can make a difference by our own professional conduct in our chosen fields.
