I Think That This is the Point...

Last Update: December 09, 2009

where a lot of folks start to lose steam...and I can see why.

It's been three weeks for me without a sale and it's been BRUTAL!   I was able to score seven sales in a month and then NOTHING!  It's pretty disheartening actually.  It's almost like starting over again.

The difference however is that I know it works!  Obviously it works because I was able to round up some sales.  It's now just a matter of re-focusing myself and maybe taking a couple of steps back.

I put up a pretty generic site for the WA affiliate program and have some keywords to focus on.  I do think however that I am going to hold off a bit on doing anything more.  While I have some good keywords, there is a ton of results for Google and I don't know if I have the knowledge yet to get myself to where I can be profitable.

I did start promoting a couple of Commission Junction products within the last two weeks.  I'm getting a few clicks here and there, but nothing substantial.  We'll see.

So it's a short, but to the point blog this time.  I am getting aggravated and upset, but I KNOW WITHOUT A DOUBT that I can make this work!

There was an announcement today at work that 30 more people were getting cut loose nationwide.  Talk about a reality check!  While my job is safe, I can't aford to continue to put my trust and livelihood in the hands of my CEO!

I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season and I will check back with you all soon!

Four years ago I was RIFd, after putting $7M to the bottom line of the company I worked for as a Director. As long as you work for someone else you can be cut, period. After floundering with a couple of telecom startups (They ate my cash reserves and then went T/U) I started looking at IM. I note that we joined just a couple weeks apart. You have sales and I am still working at getting my first, so you must be doing things right. Focus your attention on the keywords and ads that generated the sales and really refine them. More articles, USFreeAds, Lens, etc. then find more keywords to market with your successful ads. I am glad you are sticking with it, I am right behind you. Thanks for the post.

From what I've been learning in Market Samurai's training they have broken it down to four elements: 1) Relevancy 2) Traffic 3) Competiton and 4) Commerciality. Their training is specific to their product, but it makes perfect sense. Article marketing or not, if you're targeting the wrong keywords that don't meet the criteria you probably won't make consistent sales. Even if you're not using their product, it will only help you to aim to produce relevant content for your keywords on your site. Choose keywords with enough traffic (80+ searches daily) and low, weak competition (less than 30,000 results that aren't highly SEO optimized, and lastly keywords that advertisers are paying a fair amount of money for in PPC. They wouldn't be paying it out if they weren't standing to make more than that in profits per visitor. I'm paraphrasing a lot of information but you can read all about it at www.noblesamurai.com for free.
