My name is Jay Gumbs and I’ve been doing affiliate marketing since February 2006. I’ve been doing it full time since March 2009 when I decided I was consistently making enough to quit my job as a civil worker.
I’m proof that you can make money online from anywhere in the world because where I come from, a small island in the Caribbean called St. Vincent and the Grenadines, most people don’t even believe that it is possible. Still I get my checks in the mail on a regular basis and deposit them at the local bank.
I got started making money online after seeing an ad in the back of Small Business Opportunity magazine. I had been looking for ways to make money because I wasn’t happy with what I was making at the job.
I had tried MLM – you may have heard about Quixtar. That wasn’t for me especially in St. Vincent. I had wanted to do some other offline businesses but they never got off the ground.
The magazine ad would eventually lead me to advertising affiliate programs on Google Adwords where I made my first sales commission of $29.00.
This first sale got me hooked on affiliate marketing and I made it my business to learn everything I needed to know in order to make this a full time gig.
I would say that I failed a bit though in the beginning because I was trying to learn everything on my own and after a while during the first year I wasn’t making any money. There was something I was missing and I didn’t know what it was until January 2007 when I joined Wealthy Affiliate.
I’m pretty much a regular guy who loves to have fun. Guess I didn’t mention it before but I’ll be 29 in December.
I hang out with friends on the weekend, hit the clubs or the beach depending on which friends.
If and when I do travel, I usually like to go to Florida around the Ft. Lauderdale area where I have some family. I spent Christmas 2009 there with my mother and my uncle.
As far as hobbies, I love playing chess but the thing that I love most is listening to music and trying to figure out the samples. My favorite genre is hip hop but I grew up on basically everything from reggae, soca, blues, country and rock music so I pretty much listen to everything.
I’m still trying to figure out how to make money from my passion for sample based music.
That’s me in a nutshell. Add me as a buddy and lets me know if I can help you in any way.
Peace.
Jay

Hi Jay: 2 things here I don't understand. You are talking about 30 referrals, does that mean you referral to someone to WA? And here another thing is you mention" 7. Barnes & Noble Top 10 Everything", what is that?
You made $1500 a day, how many products here you sold for clickbank? Please let me know.

Hi kpfingaz: I put 77 lens in squidoo, at the beginning, the rank is going up and up. The best one is 6300 within a day. But these 2 days, everything is going down. The click and visitors go down and rank go down too. Do you know what's happen?

I referred 30 people to WA in 2007 - the first year I joined - so thats what I was talking about.
In Barnes and Noble, Top 10 Everything, if you follow the link, you will see a bunch of categories and subcategories. Now if you click on any of those you will get a top 10 list for each subcategory. That's how that works. The best lists for finding a niche are in the non fiction category.
And to answer the Clickbank question, I think I sold about 50 units of 1 product on that day to make the $1500.

Don't worry at all about Squidoo lensrank. The only ranking that matters is your ranking on Google. Work on getting your articles onto the first page and you will see increase in visitors, clicks and the bonus is you will also see an increase in your lensrank.

When you link to your lens from other pages - thats called a backlink. Get some of those going and you'll see better results for your lenses. For the lens that's #3 on Google, you should be getting good traffic but it depends on the main keyword you're using for that lens.
