Recovering from Demotivation

Timely advice....

Saw this post earlier today and thought you guys might enjoy it. It talks about all the different types of demotivation and the best way to recover from them.

For example, one thing I thought was very interesting was the fact that some types of motivation issues get WORSE with more goal-setting, planning, organizing, and accountability structures.

The types of demotivation are: fear, setting the wrong goals, lack of clarity, values conflict, lack of autonomy, lack of challenge, grief, loneliness, burn-out, and not knowing what to do next.

I can think of times when I was new at IM that I felt pretty much each and every one of these.

So, next time you are feeling demotivated, take a look at this list and try out these strategies... they make a lot of sense to me... maybe they will help you get back on track to doing what you love.

Pinpoint the type of demotivation you are experiencing & learn ways to move forward!

Thanks for the comments, guys! Faith, yes, his planners are great. In general I really enjoy his blog, I think his posts are very helpful, and he makes it easy to actually take action...which we all know is the key, but sometimes it's hard to DO anything about it.

Thanks for sharing! Very interesting and helping really. It's true, we often put the different types of demotivation in the same basket...
