You know the worst thing about getting links from forums?

 It's actually participating in them.

 Really.  I've been hanging out in some forums, chatting around here and there trying to get some links in signatures and it's been terrible.  Really, lots of people in forums are very unwelcoming.  What I've found, is that a forum is usually dominated by a few individuals with like 10,000 posts, and as soon as I say anything, commenting or what not, they come back with really harsh comments.  It's like a private club that doesn't welcome outsiders.

On one side, I really don't care.  I'm just there for the links.

But on another side, Jeez, I'd like to add something to the discussion and they're not into it, because I'm not part of the club. Damn.

 Maybe it's just that people speak more openly, more  harshly in forums because they don't have to face the people to talk to.  Don't know.

 Anyway, forum here at WA is pretty good. Appreciate it guys.

Believe me, I've been tarred and feathered in certain Forums and I stay out of them because they are places for people who think they are Godsents. Believe me, some of the questions I've asked here I've gotten "Are you for real????" and "WTF" responses. WA has been one of two forums I go into because both are very "safe" and friendly for someone with the handicaps I have. I remember one of your posts. It was very humorous to me! It was when you were "having a night of making friends." Y'know, you are far better than some of those jerks in the other forums! Excuse my language, but "to hell with them!" They're idiots with an education. I do go into the WF but I don't say anything. I'm a member of the War Room. It's not worth it. Most of the people in there are so bigoted, but not all. Come on over here and talk to us! We're your friends and you are part of our family! Cheers!

I moderated a forum for a couple of years, and we had some serious jerks. I always figured it was because there was no accountability. Live in GA and rude to a guy in CA? Who cares, it's not like he's going to jump in his car and drive 3000 miles to kick your ass.

No, not there. Actually, I've found some pretty good postings there. It's mostly from newbies though. That's the weird thing. Newbies are nice, they're ready to discuss...or at least pretend to for the links. Just some random forums I found to chat about some of my niches.

I don't know how many times I've met with guys that come out with one liners, like 'Don't post here if you don't know what you're talking about"...like they own the place.

What can I say, I'm a sensitive guy. Hurt my feelings.

Would one of them be Warrior Forum? War Room? That would get on my nerves too.
