A while back, when I just started to learn Internet Marketing, my head was a traffic jam,  like a major freeway at rush hour: chaotic, frenzied, clarity obscured by too much data. Information was being lobbed at me faster than I could see it, farless absorb it, and from every direction at once, all the while, feeling this helplessness, when you are so used to CONTROL. Sound familiar? This is a three ring circus that is way beyond the three ring circus of our childhoods. Actually, for me, i

Finally an error message I understand!
Well, I'm curious just the same. Maybe one of you knows about this new launch. Could be Pinocchio Joan is being suckered in again, or managing to escape through newly acquired cyber street smarts. Who is Latif? And what is Auto Mass Traffic Generation? This guy has made some extravagant claims regarding how he has developed a new software that will explode your "targeted" traffic overnight, and it's all automated. Now, don't get carried away. I assure you that I'm not carried away,

GuardXT- Site Security-Protection Against Hackers Just learned that Joomla can have some security issues, can be hacked if you don't lock it down. Site's particularly vulnerable if you have PayPal on the site, 'cause that is what hackers are looking  for. Nobody wants security holes. Just read about a tool you can install called GuardXT. GuardXT script will scan all the files independent of Joomla and helps check the security of your installation. Makes it easy to monitor files. What's mor

Practical advice from a fellow IM'er to all my buddies who are looking for a direction. The smartest thing you can do for this is to get away from your computer, away from your work environment for a while, so that your mind relaxes and allows the ideas to flow in. Do something entirely different for a day. GO TO THE BEACH, or maybe a day of golf does the trick for you.  Maybe going to a movie will quiet your monkey brain long enough for an idea to happen. You absolutely have to break the

Sunday morning is a time I like to visit with family and friends over the phone, or over the Internet. Usually we're all too busy during the week to hook up with each other, so we catch up on weekends. My buddies at WA are my new friends, so I'm visiting with you too. Now, aren't you happy about that? You're in the loop. Want to share what has been going on in my head lately. I've been soaking up all the fantastic information you are sharing in your blogs, your comments on my blogs, in the Foru

Not intended to be a rant, but an example of cause and effect and what happens when you leave out an important ingredient for building a relationship with your customer. This is an important one to bear in mind as you grow your business. Don't be afraid to be generous. Very risky to be obnoxiously stingy in business. Stingy can be obnoxious and alienating. It's wise not to get too much on your customers' nerves, if you can help it. That is, unless you are Don Rickles, who has raised obnoxious to

Two of my favorite merchants delayed renewing their membership with the network, and went off-line. Meanwhile, I have spent weeks writing copy and articles to promote them.  It's not as if they can be easily replaced.  They are very unique and special and really don't have much competition in the affiliates arena. They are a perfect fit for me and what I'm trying to build. The network was pressing them to renew, and advised me to drop them if they didn't renew in a week. One of them wa

It's Sunday morning,  and family's coming over for breakfast, so I'll be brief. I'm baking some sticky buns. You should smell it in here. Had to share a few thoughts with you today and leave you with a good message to ponder  and a good feeling as you enjoy the weekend, whether you take the day off to play or plan to do something else. Do you pay attention to what makes your heart sing? Or do you just go about seeing to your responsibilities, all business, no play, and joyless? Come on
