What's the Best Time to Start a Big Project? You know, the one you have outlined, is sitting on your desk, and is ready for your total commitment? RIGHT NOW! Not an hour from now, not tomorrow. Now. That "get going" voice will make you miserable if you don't get started. Nag, nag, nag! It's a whole lot more comfortable to "start" than to listen to your own voice yammering at you in the background. If you keep putting your beloved project off to accommodate more mundane da

That's the title of an article I read this morning over coffee and just loooved reading it. Inspirational! It's about Kathryn Stockett, author of the best seller "The Help".  Her book was rejected 60 times until finally, an editor acknowledged her manuscript and bought it. "The Help", sold to Amy Einhorn Books AFTER 60 ATTEMPTS!!!! BRAVA!!! Mission accomplished. Ms. Stockett's husband describes his wife's best trait as "She never gives up!" Then he described

Happiness to William and Catherine! Cheers to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge! Watched the ceremony on TV this morning. Thought the ceremony was absolutely beautiful and majestic! I hope the new royal couple has a very happy and long life together. Cheers to our family in the UK!

Let's see what happens. I took Kyle's advice and just wrote about something that interests me. It was tons of fun. I think it was informative. Didn't think once about kw density. I just wrote the article in total freedom. Long article, 1,367 words. Whew! I hope it's not boring so people won't read it. At any rate, I just want to see what happens. If they don't read it, then I get one answer. It they do read it, then I might inspire someone through the experience I shared. I enjoyed writing it.

Have you ever been to a party, introduce yourself to a total stranger, and in the next five minutes, hear the story of their lives? Have you ever noticed how much people LOVE to talk about themselves? They're so happy when you listen to their stories. They pay huge sums to therapists to "listen" to their stories and complaints. I find this a very interesting trait of human nature.  I actually enjoy listening to other people, hearing their stories. I'm genuinely interested in know

Here's a Warning Meant to Protect You... This is going to seem really odd to you, but to save you some physical discomfort, I thought you'd better hear about it if you happen to like to eat pine nuts as much as I do/did. My family and I enjoy pesto on thin spaghetti sometimes, so I made pesto last week. As you know, pine nuts are a main ingredient in pesto. Couldn't find pine nuts anywhere, but finally tracked them down at Trader Joe's, a food emporium known for funky but healthy food. I notice

What am I talking about? Purple snowflakes? Conjures up all kinds of rainbow images, doesn't it? Got your attention, didn't I? You are curious. Just where I want you. "Purple Snowflakes" is a phrase coined by Richard Carlson, Ph.D. , from his book "Don't Worry, Make Money". He uses it as a metaphor for standing out in a crowd. Don't ever be afraid to stand out and be different. It's amazing to me how many people recoil from being noticed. Maybe it's shyness, maybe insecurit
