The New Squidoo Widgets

Last Update: June 10, 2010

Did you know you can now add products and blogs to the right hand column of your Squidoo lens - you know, that space where there are always ads of some kind?  well, you can and that one thing can increase your income as well as make your entire lens more interesting.

In Edit Mode, you will now see two tabs (right hand side of page).  One is the default - Workshop Tools - which we all use to edit our lenses.  Now there is also a tab marked Manage Widgets.  Click on that tab.

You can add your blog RSS - if you are doing niche blogs and lenses, and you should be, this is a great spot to highlight your blog posts.

You can add Featured Lenses - again if you are doing niche lenses, you want to connect them all.  Use Featured lenses to do that (and don't forget to also use the Discovery Tool).  Your lenses should advertise your other lenses in your niche.

You can add Amazon products.   If you are reviewing a bbq grill, add some accessories here.

you can add your Squidcast   -Squidoo treats Squidcasting like a blog post.  So it is a good idea to do that a couple of times a week.   Always original content!

I love the new Squidoo Widgets!  Enjoy!

Moonvine, thank you So much for this!! I've been making lenses, but had no idea I could use the right-hand column! I'd seen it used on your lenses, and some others, but I thought it was a special feature for Giant Squids, so thank you very much for sharing this! How lucky we are to have you here! :) xx

Thank you moonvine. That adds to the value of Squidoo lenses. I've been focused on articles. Maybe I'll spend more time with Squidoo.
