Don't Spam My Blog

Last Update: August 11, 2011

I have a blog that I have been running since 2007 and I have a very sincere purpose for what I write on this blog.  It is not a spam tool or one that I just don't care what is posted on it.  It has a purpose and I am beginning to see that unfold.  The purpose is one to help the world.

Anyway, today I had a comment awaiting moderation on the blog.  As I read this, it was extremely clear the reader really didn't read and engage in what the blog post was about.  Lo and behold, there was a link DIRECTLY in the comment to one of their websites.  Most likely it was an affiliate site.

Now that pisses me off!

I allow relevant comments in my blog and I even allow your signed name to be hyperlinked to your website.  What I don't allow is a direct advertisement in the body of a comment.

So, you know what - that comment is now deleted.  I could have marked it as spam but I didn't.  I was nice!  I figured the person maybe just screwed up with their inconsideration.

Focused comments on the blog posts are more than welcomed but spamming me will get you kicked right out the door.  I try to maintain integrity on this blog and because I do, the rankings on it are powerful.

In fact, with one blog post linking to a new article on Street Articles, this blog manages to rank higher than my new website.  It is a powerful force and the traffic is up more than 4 times from a year ago and growing!  Ever since the my Oprah Show experience, it has grown exponentially.

So the moral of the story is, leave comments like we are taught but don't go around and spam the blogs!  Blog and forum owners for the most part don't like this and if they are moderated (like my blog is), than you'll get kicked out on your letters!
